International Women's Day (IWD) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. The celebration of IWD is an act of solidarity!
Looking for a way to showcase your talent while celebrating International Women’s Day this year?
The Center for Women’s Global Leadership is excited to announce hosting two events:
- Tuesday, March 8, 2022 - We will be hosting an open mic to give YOU the opportunity to share your talent LIVE with the Rutgers community!
- We will be accepting short story submissions for the chance to be featured on the website of the Journalism Initiative on Gender-Based Violence (gbvjournalism.org)
Short Story Instruction:
Write a 600-word article sharing thoughts or ideas in response to the new JiG guidebook 'Silence and Omissions: A Media Guide for Covering Gender-Based Violence,' https://gbvjournalism.org/, or write an original opinion piece on how to address the crisis of femicide. Submissions should be sent to
